Sasha and Brutus were surrendered to SEPRA by an owner that had them all of their lives but due to some health issues was no longer able to care for them so she contacted SEPRA. They are both 9 years old and have been together all their lives so they must stay together. They are both very energetic and vocal and great with older kids. They are crate trained to stay in the same crate together. Both need to be vetted and have dentals but otherwise are very healthy. They made the long trip from GA to LA like champs! Sasha snuggled in the backseat with one of the passengers and Brutus chilled out most of the ride - both were perfect to be in a car for many hours with total strangers!
Hello everyone, Just thought I would send out a quick update on how they are doing. They each had their dentals and some teeth pulled a little while back. Sasha has lost 3 pounds and Brutus has lost an amazing 5 pounds! They both have grown to love the dry food I give them as they chose not to starve. Sasha is on a Blue Buffalo Salmon and Sweet potato diet with banana and yogurt treats for her allergies. It seems to be helping a bit. Brutus is eating Royal Canin low calorie high protein. Because of their large weight loss they have both become much more active and now seek out toys and play. Brutus is not a big fan of reflective objects as he often attacks the water bowl and runs head first into my tv stand when he sees his reflection- no injuries yet lol. Sasha is the precious one with her tongue hanging out. Also, they have their Halloween costumes. Brutus will be a football and Sasha does not tolerate wearing clothes so she has bat wings so she can still participate and be festive. My family has really grown to love them and I think they finally feel relaxed and happy where they are. Brutus is doing better using his belly band and he is definitely a mama's boy - follows me everywhere! They are super sweet pugs and SEPRA is more than willing to help transport them from Louisiana if we can find them the perfect family so please apply!
Sasha and Brutus are doing great! They had their 2nd dental and some teeth removed that were starting to become a problem. Brutus had his skin issues taken care of and we are still working on Sasha's. She is just incredibly itchy and the medicines we have tried do not seem to be helping. We aren't giving up though! Their weight is down and holding steady at around 16-17lbs each which is phenomenal when you consider they started at around 22-26lbs. Brutus is my shadow and will not leave my side. He is terrified of thunder and still refuses to leave my sight and thus will sit in my closet, hiding under my clothes but still within eyesight of me. We have discovered their love of singing. We were singing happy birthday to my sister and both Sasha and Brutus started to sing along. Seriously, they were holding their own. They are just 2 very happy, loving pugs who are gracing us with their presence until they find their own home. Anyone would be lucky to have them!
