Hammy's Story...
Hammy is an adorable and extremely gentle 3-year-old Exotic Shorthair kitty who was abandoned at the city pound when his former owners were "Moving to Kentucky." Hammy is very loving and needs LOTS of attention. He loves being petted, getting tummy rubs and being fussed over. Hammy is GREAT with other pets, including dogs. He enjoys the company of other cats and should not be a "one and only" cat. Hammy knows and responds to his name and like a dog, comes when he is called. Hammy is a very special and fantastic cat and we are seeking nothing less in his forever adopter. Hammy's adopter MUST HAVE committed cat-owning experience and a checkable vet referance. We prefer someone knowledgeable about Exotic Short Hairs, but that is not required. If serious about Hammy, please call us as emails will not be responded to. (212) 427-8273. Hammy is a one-in-a-million cat and will go to that special one-in-a-million adopter.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Hammy, a New York Exotic cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Exotic for sale in New York, or seeking a Exotic cat from a breeder in New York.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in New York already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a New York breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Exotic breeders who help with Exotic rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in New York paves the way for another one to be saved.
