My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Shortcake (or Cakes) is a 1-2 year old black female lab mix (possibly mixed with Bassett). Shortcake was found in the woods of a military base, in the pouring rain, with a chain wound around her neck several times. Shortcake was taken home by a soldier to be kept safe while an owner could hopefully be located. But, as it happens way too often, no owner stepped forward. She is now living in a foster home with the soldier who found her. Cakes is a medium to high energy girl who gets along with other dogs and does well with children of all ages. She is learning her basic manners quickly, and would do very well in an obedience training class. Cakes likes to sit on laps or right next to you and to be loved on for as long you can pet her. She also loves treat time, and sits beautifully for her treats. She would be a great hiking, outdoors type of girl; who will also love lounging around inside with her family or companion. She is simply adorable and sweet, and her face is VERY hard to resist, isn’t it?
Shortcake is spayed, heartworm negative, up-to-date on vaccinations including rabies and micro chipped. She has also been kept on flea and heartworm preventative. Cakes is crate trained and does very well with house training.
