My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

INITIAL BIO 11/05/2011: SAY HELLO TO PORTIA! She is 5 years old, weighs 10 lbs and is being fostered in Punta Gorda, FL. Portia was surrendered by her breeder earlier this year, and adopted out to a wonderful home; however, sometimes the 'fit' just doesn't work, which isn't the fault of either the dog or the adoptive parents.....that is what happened with Miss Portia. She has returned to UYR and we are in hopes of finding her the most perfect second home. Portia is a sweet, but very shy & timid, little girl who gets along well with other dogs; she also doesn't mind the kitty cats. She is friendly, but lacks confidence. Portia has returned to her former foster home which knows her well, and they will be working on boosting her confidence with lots of positive praise and gentle persuasion. The perfect home for Portia would be in a home with only one other dog, close to her size and age. Portia loves daily walks so a backyard with a fence is preferred, but not necessary. We feel that an apartment might have too many noises for her and so a home would be best. Loud noises and quick movements do scare her (poor baby). She would do best in a home where she doesn't have to be left for long hours - at least one stay-at-home parent would be wonderful so that she can gain confidence much quicker. Portia just needs a home where her adoptive family will love her, hold her, pet her and help her to trust humans again. Could you be the home Portia has dreamed of?
NOTE: Because Portia is so timid, she can only go into an adult home at this time.
