Mortimer's Story...
Meet Mortimer! Called “Morty” for short, this handsome Pomeranian is an animated, people-pleaser, with a charming personality. It's hard to imagine how such a stunning boy could be without a home, but we are sure he will become the centerpiece of someone's heart.

Mortimer arrived at ARF as a stray and is quickly making himself known in the midst of all the bustle at the shelter. However, he would love some more personal attention and training. Perhaps he could be a walking companion, he's certain to become a favorite of the neighbors as they see him saunter by. Mortimer is happy to sit or lay down for you, and doesn't mind if you enjoy petting his long downy fur. He loves other dogs too, so he wouldn’t mind sharing his new home with a canine companion.

If you would like more information on Mortimer, contact his adoption consultant, Lynn, at 216-780-7043 or Puz777@yahoo.com. Or come visit him at the shelter. He can’t wait to meet you!

** The adoption fee helps to cover the general veterinarian check-up, heartworm test, spay/neuter, basic vaccinations, rabies vaccination, worming, flea preventative, and microchip that all dogs adopted through Berea ARF receive prior to going into their new home.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mortimer, a Berea Pomeranian dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pomeranian for sale in Berea, or seeking a Pomeranian dog from a breeder in Berea.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Berea already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Berea breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pomeranian breeders who help with Pomeranian rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Berea paves the way for another one to be saved.
