Kizzie's Story...
Visit http://www.sarahstreasuresrescue.net for more information or to fill out an application.

Kizzie is approximately 1-2 years old and believed to be a Corgi/Heeler mix. She was rescued from the Lake Traverse Reservation. Kizzie is up to date on all vaccinations, spayed, heartworm tested negative, and current on her flea/tick/heartworm preventatives. She is also microchipped.

Kizzie has been around other dogs, large and small, and seems to do well. She is not a fan of them in her face and jumping all over her though -- she likes her own space. Kizzie is curious about the cats, however, she is respectful of them and minds her own business.

Kizzie is super friendly and loves people. She enjoys spending lots of time with you, but also is okay left alone too. Kizzie would do best wtih kids 7+ years because she can be very energetic and try and 'herd' the younger children. Also when playing, she sometimes gets mouthy and although she doesn't mean harm and is easily corrected, this may scare the young children.

Kizzie is kennel trained and believed to be housetrained. She has not had any accidents when loose in her foster home, although she is kenneled when no one is home. Kizzie tries hard to please, but she is also stubborn. She knows how to come and sit and walks well on the leash. She is working on other commands too. Kizzie would do best with a fenced in yard and active family. She will run if she gets off her leash. She has a medium energy level and needs daily exercise, but is pretty calm inside and will take a nice nap with you on the couch!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Kizzie, a Watertown Corgi/Australian Cattle Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Corgi/Australian Cattle Dog for sale in Watertown, or seeking a Corgi/Australian Cattle Dog dog from a breeder in Watertown.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Watertown already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Watertown breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Corgi/Australian Cattle Dog breeders who help with Corgi/Australian Cattle Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Watertown paves the way for another one to be saved.
