Oreo's Story...
Oreo is an adorable, friendly, sweet and playful one-year-old, six-pound, male, black and tan Chi-Weenie (Chihuahua / Dachshund-mix) looking for a loving guardian. Oreo is very affectionate, full of kisses, and knows how to sit on command. He takes treats very gently from your fingers and lets you pick him up and hold him. Oreo rolls over for belly rubs, is great on leash and good in the car. He loves people and enjoys the company of other little dogs. Some big dogs intimidate him. Oreo is very healthy, de-wormed, neutered, micro-chipped, heartworm-tested, and up-to-date on vaccines. His adoption fee of $150 benefits the rescued pets of Famous Fido’s. You can meet Oreo at 5430 N. Clark Street in Chicago’s Andersonville neighborhood. Come out and meet all the dogs up for adoption. For more information on Oreo or Famous Fido’s other dogs, please contact Gloria at 773-907-0305 or fido@famousfidorescue.com or Martha at martha.j.hack@gmail.com or 773-690-2881.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Oreo, a Chicago Chihuahua/Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua/Dachshund for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Chihuahua/Dachshund dog from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua/Dachshund breeders who help with Chihuahua/Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
