Sam's Story...
Hi, my name is Sam and I'm looking for my forever home.  I love to be close to people and ideally would enjoy being petted all the time. I am very sweet and affectionate and truly just want to have a family around to love me. I love attention and really don't like being alone.
My favorite things are to run around in the backyard and play with anyone. I love playing tug of war and enjoy all my toys. I really enjoy being around kids and have so much fun with them. My foster parents say I am really smart and eager to always learn new things.
I am working on commands and really enjoy socializing too. When I go to the park and on walks everyone seems to like me. I love getting lots of attention from everyone. Since I don't like being left alone, I would really like to go to a home with a friend to keep me company.
If you are looking for a sweet guy that will always be by your side, then I am your guy. If you are looking for a loving and loyal best friend, please contact AZGRC and let them know you would like to meet me.

Training: Sit, Come, wait. working on other basic commands
Compatibility: Good with some other dogs, good with older & younger kids, cats unknown
Activity Level: Low to Medium

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sam, a Scottsdale Golden Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Golden Retriever for sale in Scottsdale, or seeking a Golden Retriever dog from a breeder in Scottsdale.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Scottsdale already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Scottsdale breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Golden Retriever breeders who help with Golden Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Scottsdale paves the way for another one to be saved.
