My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Jessie was picked up as a stray by a high kill shelter in Southern IL. Jessie certainly does have a bit of an adventurous spirit and she excels at climbing fences...though she doesn't seem to do much more than make sure the grass really isn't greener on the other side. Jessie is about the sweetest most loving little girl you could find but the poor thing definately had a very rough start and some very rough owners. When she first came to us she did nothing but shake because she just didn't know what she should do to make us humans happy with her. She has come so, so, so far in such a short time that we just can't believe it. But even when the poor little one was terrified of "getting in trouble" she never once offered to nip or do anything other than huddle in a miserable trembling little ball. Now Jessie is a bundle of tail wagging, face kissing love - you just couldn't ask for a sweeter dog. Jessie will need a kind and understanding adopter but she is now happily running into her kennel, tail wagging a mile a minute because she knows what she is supposed to do and playing with all of her good buddies. Jessie would do best in a home that could provide her with a covered outdoor run since she is still not 100% convinced that she can potty outside when people are watching without getting into big trouble. She is making it through the night almost every night and does not have any accidents during the day so she is certainly getting the idea. Jessie will also need to either be walked on a leash or have a climb proof fence in her back yard because she can go over our six foot chainlink fences in an instant....I think this little one might make an amazing agility dog, she sure has the physical capability and wants nothing more than to please people...she just needs to be shown the way.
