My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

*******IMPORTANT****** IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ONE OF OUR DOGS PLEASE VISIT OUR WEBSITE AND FILL OUT AN ADOPTION APPLICATION. AFTER WE HAVE AN APPLICATION ON FILE WE WILL COMMUNICATE SPECIFICS ABOUT THAT PARTICULAR DOG. WE ARE A SMALL RESCUE, OVERWHELMED BY THE NUMBER OF DOGS WE HAVE IN OUR FOSTER PROGRAM AND ARE UNABLE TO ANSWER OR CALL UNTIL WE HAVE AN ADOPTION APPLICATION.
Ginger II is an 18 month old female. Ginger was part of a breeding program, but when her breeding would not take, the owner had no more use for her. To top it off, she blew out one of her knees. Saddled with a dog who would not be bred and then blowing out one of her knees , they did the next logical thing (to any heartless creature)...they dumped her at the local shelter. They were willing to pay for artificial insemination, to care for a bulldog through a pregnancy(not cheap) and a c-section(again not cheap) but had no desire to care for a dog who was not going to improve their bottomline....line their own pockets. Their callous attitude was the best thing that could have ever happened to Ginger....because she will never have to have pups, we will fix her knee and she will find a perfect home who appreciates and loves her. She is thankful that the shelter workers knew to call GEBR to save her.
Ginger is now up to date on shots and is on a weight reduction program before she undergoes knee surgery.
She is presently on medical hold until she is able to undergo surgery and is thriving in her foster home.
Ginger's surgical bills will run in to the thousands of dollars. Please consider donating to her care by visiting our website and clicking on any of the "DONATE" buttons or by clicking on the donate button below. Thank you!
