Scotch's Story...
This beautiful boy's name is Scotch =). He was left abandoned in an apartment and the police were called to take him to the city shelter. We pulled him to safety thank goodness and he is now at our shelter waiting to be adopted.

Scotch is about three years old and very friendly and sweet. He is a big boy, about 55 lbs. Scotch is good with everyone he meets including other dogs. He frequently visits the local dog runs with our volunteers =) He also goes on overnights to a volunteers house so we know he is very good in the house as well! He does well walking on a leash through the neighborhood and was very calm and sweet when he met some children at our Atlas Adoption Center recently (see photo!) We can't say enough good things about Scotch =)

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Scotch, a Freeport American Pit Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Freeport, or seeking a American Pit Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in Freeport.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Freeport already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Freeport breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with American Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Freeport paves the way for another one to be saved.
