Update 09/16/12: HI!! Shelby here. I'm 13 yrs old & weigh about 7 lbs. My foster mom says I'm a sweet pretty girl. I've been here at my foster home for about 10 months. I don't really mind because my foster mom cooks us chicken & veggies & I get treats when I take my medicine. I have to take phenobarbital for seizures & I've been doing really well. I haven't had one since April & my medicine only costs about $12 a month. I'm a pretty low key girl, but I do like to play fetch. I will toss a toy to you & bring it back if you feel like playing. I like my foster brothers & sisters but I wouldn't mind having a person of my own. Especially if you have treats. If you think I'm the one for you please fill out an adoption application.
Update 07/28/12: Hi Shelby here!! I'm 13 years young & I weigh about 7 lbs. I love Treats & naps. I'm a pretty quiet girl I don't bark much unless somebody tries to take my nap spot. I don't mind children as long as they are nice to me. I like it when they toss my little toy to me I will grab it & toss it back. I would prefer older children 8 or 9. I get along with all of the other dogs & I love being petted. If you are looking for an older mellow girl then I'm the one for you. If I might be the one please fill out an appliction.
Update 04/22/12: Shelby here!! Not much new with me. Just living the good life with warm beds & lots of treats. I will turn 13 on May 1st. But I've still got a lot of love to give. I've had a little trouble with a few seizures lately, but the medication is working. I'm a sweet girl looking for a home with adults who are home most of the time. If you have grandkids I wouldn't mind that if they are kind to me & don't chase me . I like when they play with me. I will fetch the toy & toss it back to them. Well off to see if my Foster Mom will give me a treat. Talk to you soon!!
Update 03/11/12: Hi! eveveryone Shelby here. Just an update. I'm doing well!! I was sick on Christmas Day & had to go to the ER Vet with pancreatitis, but I've been feeling good every since. I have a new foster sister Angel, she's in the picture with me. Aren't we a couple of pretty girls?? I'm just hanging out here at my foster mom's with all of the other furkids. I'm a pretty mellow girl. I like playing with a few toys & napping on the couch. I get along with other doggies & I like older kids if they don't chase me. I may be an older girl but I'm still a lot of fun!!
UPDATE 1/22/12: Shelby here!! I've been enjoying playing fetch with the grandkids today! I like kids as long as they play with me and don't chase me. My foster mom says I don't act like I'm 12 yrs young. I'm a sweet lovable girl & my foster mom says anyone who adopts me would be very lucky. Got to go for now & find another toy to chase!!
UPDATE 12/11/11: Hi!! Shelby here! Just thought I would let everyone know how I'm doing. Everything at my FM is good. I get lots of love & treats. I'm a very active 12 yr old girl. I do love a good squeaky toy & a belly rub. I'm a quiet shy girl I do love the other little doggies here, but a human of my vey own would be nice too! I'm not afraid of children as long as they don't chase me. My ideal home would be one with adults & maybe another small quiet doggie like myself. Well I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas!!
Initial Bio 11/13/11: Shelby is a 12 year old, 6 lb sweetheart. She came to her foster home on 11-12-11. She is not the least bit shy or nervous in her new surroundings. She was an only dog in her former home but seems to be enjoying the company of her foster sister Suzie & two brothers Romeo & Teddie. Her former owner said she doesn't like being chased by young children but I think she would do well with older children. With a little encouragement she would be quite the cuddler if you are looking for a little lap dog. She is housetrained & will give you a look & do a few circles at the door to let you know she needs to go out. She is a very well behaved little girl and would make someone a wonderful companion. We haven't heard her bark yet but keep everyone updated as her little personality comes out as she gets used to us.
