Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Two year old Lexie ended up in a small rural shelter after being picked up as a stray. Little out-of -the way shelters do not have lots of adopters coming by, so after a few weeks with no adoption in sight, rescue was asked to take Lexie. There was no way we could resist saying yes to this cutie. Look at her adorable monkey face markings!
Since the day she arrived in foster care, she has been an easy dachshund. She happily greets new people with a wagging tail. While not overly affectionate with young children, she does not seem to mind them. She is great with the other dogs.
Lexie is a very quiet dog and only barks when after squirrels or roof rats. (She loves to patrol the grounds and is always investigating all of the bushes).
Lexie is a young dog so she needs a home that gets her out for exercise on a daily basis. She would enjoy having a canine brother or two.
Lexie crates quietly in her crate at night. When we had her spayed, we also had a hernia fixed. Our little 12 lb Monkey is a great dog!
If you are interested in Lexie, please fill out the online adoption application at www.scdr org. Tax deductible adoption fee of $250.
