Smokey is a stunning dog with an amazing personality. He is so friendly and affectionate and is very very smart. His gray coat is sooo soft – like a stuffed animal. He is really in tune with his human and so eager to please…just a wonderful fellow. Smokey’s time was up at a kill shelter in the eastern part of the state. He had been surrendered to the shelter when his original owner had to move to an apartment where dogs were not allowed. We had met Smokey on a previous trip to this shelter and told the shelter manager to let us know if he was in danger. When we got the call, we headed right over there knowing that Smokey was far too special to not get a second chance at a real forever home. What a joy he is to have here at Cedar Farm! Everyday is a new experience for Smokey and he is so happy and excited to be a part of things. He really enjoys playing with the other dogs and is getting to know our cats but the jury is still out on that. He should do very well with children. Smokey walks wonderfully on leash and is up for as long of a walk that you are up for. He’s a most agreeable fellow! Smokey is neutered and microchipped and up to date on all of his shots. He is kennel and crate trained and house broken. He is heartworm negative and on monthly preventatives for heartworms, fleas and ticks. Smokey is 1 year old and weighs 47 lbs.
