My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This is Jake. He is being fostered in a home with a Cattledog Rescue group. Here is a description that they sent for him:

Jake is a special boy who came to my foster home in Fremont from the Stockton Shelter. At first impression, I did not think Jake would have a chance finding a new home. He would run from us and would not let us come near him. He never once showed any aggression. We wondered how this guy became so fearful. Since we do not know any history of Jake other than he came from the shelter, we only have assumptions. So we let Jake stay in our run and doggie hotel. We would not try to approach him when we fed him but always talked to him. After 2 weeks Jake has shown great progress, enough to tell us he wants to trust and be loved. He hangs out with other dogs in the yard, and will come to me when asked. There are still times he shys off but I have had the pleasure of petting him, rubbing him and even getting kisses from him. He also will now wander into the kitchen looking for me and give my hand a quiick kiss and off he goes back to the yard. While walking in the yard, he will nudge my leg and I will then proceed to give him pets and hugs which he loves. Jake still has a long way to go but he has shown us enough that he will be a companion dog more than likely to a single person or couple. He would also love to have another friendly dog to help him continue to trust and be confindent. Jake never tries to escape, he likes toys, and chew bones. While we search to find the right home for Jake, we will continue to work with Jake to being an indoor/outdoor dog and socializing with people. He is not a dog you would have to be concerned about biting. If you would like to provide Jake with a home and continue his growth in confidence, please call Lorice at 510-657-2648 or 2cowdogs4us@comcast.net. Jake is already neutered and is current on vaccinations.
