My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Currently on medical hold, Sunday is a sweet, rather timid fellow, estimated to be about 4 years old, he appears to be a Sheltie or maybe a mini Aussie, but really he is a snuggle bunny. Sunday has become a much happier and more confident dog since coming into foster care. Once he bonds, he's your best friend for life and very kissy...but at first he can be a bit shy. He gets along well with the Shelties in his foster home; he's the low man on the totem pole.

Sunday seems to like children and enjoys moderate walks. He loves to sleep in the bed and happily shares it with another dog or two, along with his foster mom. He met some cats and horses and seemed okay with them. He enjoys being brushed and lets you brush his teeth. He is a bit plump at 24 pounds and needs to lose weight; he just started on inexpensive daily thyroid pills which will probably help with weight loss. Note: Sunday hates riding in the car, so he's not a good choice for a situation that requires much travel or commuting. Some people think he's got a touch of Mini-Aussie or Pomeranian; some think he's a purebred Sheltie. Whatever he is, he's a doll.

This darling, friendly boy is a lap dog, not an athlete. He's meant for snuggling, not agility! Sunday was rescued from an LA kill shelter, where he had been dumped and was cowering in the back of a cage full of dogs. Now he's neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, bathed, groomed, mani-pedi-eed and thoroughly vetted (including food allergy testing, the results of which will be provided to his adopter). Our vet thinks he's only about 4 years old; however, he has chronic allergic bronchitis, which means he needs a little extra attention. (It's generally well-controlled with generic Robitussin from Costco but potential adopters need to be aware of this "special need.")
