Layla's Story...
Stunning Black Beauty. Layla is a Flat Coat Retriever hence the “black” dog on a “gold” dog website. (http://www.akc.org/breeds/ flat_coated_retriever/)  Layla was rescued from the shelter in March of 2006 and found the perfect home. Unfortunately her owner passed away and she found herself back in the shelter.
Layla is friendly, outgoing, and a sweetheart of a girl. Layla will play with toys but she is also content to lie around and wait for you. If she feels it is time for you to “stop and enjoy the moment” she will gently let you know that she is available to play. Layla enjoys people and being petted but prefers to be an only dog.

Training:  Knows Basic Commands, Housebroken
Compatibility: Cats unknown: Needs to be an only dog
Activity Level: Moderate: Likes to play fetch

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Layla, a Scottsdale Flat-Coated Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Flat-Coated Retriever for sale in Scottsdale, or seeking a Flat-Coated Retriever dog from a breeder in Scottsdale.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Scottsdale already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Scottsdale breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Flat-Coated Retriever breeders who help with Flat-Coated Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Scottsdale paves the way for another one to be saved.
