Poppy's Info...

Breed: Domestic Shorthair Color: Tortoiseshell Age: Adult
Sex: Female Hair: Short

I am already spayed, in need of an experienced adopter, up to date with shots, not good with kids, not good with dogs, and good with cats.

Poppy's Story...
Poppy, her mother and two sisters were abandoned behind an apartment complex. They had to scrounge for food and began hiding under the building most of the time, in the dark. A very poor couple then moved into the apartment above where they hid and began to feed them the only food they had--top ramen noodles. The couple asked me to help the cats.

Poppy waits here for a home. Poppy is smart, and a bit shy but with attention and patience, she quickly warms up to new people. She likes to chew on my hair! Poppa has been waiting a long time for the right home to come along. She needs a quiet home with an experienced adopter.

About Our Rescue Group...
I am a cat trapper and lover of strays. I am an obsessive relentless proponent of spay/neuter. I identify with strays because I am one myself. I began helping ferals after living along the river in Corvallis, homeless myself at times. A colony of feral cats provided me what I couldn't find among humans--acceptance, love and support. They were my family. Now I help them.
Come Meet Our Pets...
I adopt out rescued cats by word of mouth, occasional newspaper ad, my petfinder.com website, this website and with flyers. I am on an extremely low budget and so far, work alone.

I do not take in cats from the general public but rather specialize in rounding up cats who otherwise would not be fixed, to get them fixed, for people who own the cats or who feed stray or feral cats, to humanely reduce populations through TNR. I run across cats and kittens in extreme need, without other options, and this is how I came to doing rescue.

Our Adoption Process...
Adoption fee of $30 per cat. All cats are fixed, vaccinated and treated for parasites prior to adoption. Indoor only homes. Adopters also agree to a home visit and check afterwards. I have an adoption contract that I ask be filled out prior to the first visit. I want these wonderful cats who have suffered so, not to suffer or be abandoned again. I look for adopters who respect and cherish life.
