Windy's Story...
"Oh Wendy, Wendy oh what went wrong, wrong, wrong , wrong. I have loved you for so long!" Every time I say her name I think of the Beach Boys’ song. Windy is a very special girl -- this is why I chose to spell her name as I did. She loves her human and bonds very quickly. She is easy to train and does well outside by herself but would rather be in the house, car, truck or barn with you. She is crate trained and housetrained. Windy loves to lay on the couch with you and at night snuggle on the bed, too. She does have resource guarding issues but they are workable issues -- you will have to be an alpha pack leader to live with her. Her resource guarding seems to stem from food or if another dog gets too close to her human. If you apply for Ms. Windy, I recommend getting the book "MINE" by Jean Donaldson so that you can continue the training that she is getting at the present time for her resource guarding issues. She has the biggest heart I have ever seen in a cattle dog with so much love to give. Windy does have a moderate energy level at this time and has not shown interest in any toys although I don't think she has ever been introduced to any type of fun activities before coming to our rescue. Windy has not been around cats or children. She would make the best Velcro dog you could ever ask for! Windy is a 3-year-old spayed blue female weighing 40 pounds. She is up to date on vaccines, is microchipped, and on heartworm preventative. Windy is being fostered in Westminster, SC.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Windy, a Siler City Australian Cattle Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Cattle Dog for sale in Siler City, or seeking a Australian Cattle Dog dog from a breeder in Siler City.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Siler City already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Siler City breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Cattle Dog breeders who help with Australian Cattle Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Siler City paves the way for another one to be saved.
