Brownie's Story...
Brownie was born 10-05-11. She will be ready for adoption the end of December. We are accepting applications now. Please email us at lldogrescue@yahoo.com.The Great 8 puppy litter found their way into rescue as mom gave birth in our care. Mom appears to be a chihuahua/basset hound mix. She is brindle colored and very mild mannered. At a normal weight, she would be around 35-45 lbs. We do not know who dad is. There can be more than one dad in a litter. There appears to be some lab in the little as well as basset and perhaps a hunting dog. We cannot guarantee the full size of these puppies when grown. We believe they will be medium sized dogs. Some of the pups are more active/have longer legs than others - representing different breeds. Please contact us for more information.

Fence/enclosed patio required for most dogs. We check your vet reference and fence. Dogs are current on vaccinations, HW negative, micro chipped, dental if needed and spayed/neutered. Email lldogrescue@yahoo.com for quickest response.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Brownie, a Shawnee Mission Labrador Retriever/German Shorthaired Pointer puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/German Shorthaired Pointer for sale in Shawnee Mission, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/German Shorthaired Pointer puppy from a breeder in Shawnee Mission.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Shawnee Mission already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Shawnee Mission breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/German Shorthaired Pointer breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/German Shorthaired Pointer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Shawnee Mission paves the way for another one to be saved.
