My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

5 yr old Stevie was found wandering the parking lot of a Sacramento Wal Mart.
No one ever came for him so we suspect he was dumped. This was especially cruel as our sweet Stevie is blind.

The crowded shelter sent out numerous pleas for rescue for him with no luck.
At the last minute even though we are desperately short on foster space, we agreed to take him. After all, how could we resist when the shelter had this to say about him:

"This fellow is such a nice dog! Even though he can't see, he is perfectly happy to cruise around and check things out (bump, bump) and is just an overall calm, gentle soul. He was great with all the handling we put him through and even when I bent down to pick him up, I found him to be incredibly trusting and tolerant. He will approach any new person and accept greetings and pets happily. I am really struck by how accepting he is and willing to "go with the flow" in life. In the noisy kennels, he seems to do just fine, despite the chaos. He will greet you at the front of the kennel and is content to cruise down the aisle as long as you have him on a short leash, of course. So, the fact that he can handle all of those barking dogs, big and small, says a lot about this boy's character."

In foster care, Stevie has been as great as the shelter said and more! He is great with people, kids, and most other dogs. He does have one flaw - he is not so good with cats.

Being blind doesn't hinder Stevie much. He loves going for walks, exploring the back yard, and playing with his toys. He would do well in any home, as long as you don't constantly rearrange the furniture or have lots of stairs that he can fall down.

Stevie is neutered, microchipped, and has all of his shots.
