Rye's Story...
Rye is a stunning 16.0H (est) 2003 Chestnut Thoroughbred Gelding, registered with The Jockey Club as "Hot Little Number". Rye came to AAE with his buddy Kinji in 2010. He is an ex-racehorse that was re-trained into a very nice riding horse. He's jumped and done trails. He is a very sweet boy with a heart of gold, and he likes to please on the ground as well as under saddle. Under saddle, Rye has a very soft mouth, and he is responsive to all of the rider's cues. He is suitable for novice or higher level rider in the arena, but he has not been evaluated on trail yet. Rye is comfortable in an english or western saddle, and goes very nicely in a smooth snaffle bit. He can live in pasture or a stall, and requires shoes at least on his front feet. His former owner indicted he does experience separation anxiety when taken away from the barn or his pasture mate(s), but typically resolves within 20-30 minutes.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rye, a El Dorado Hills Thoroughbred was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Thoroughbred for sale in El Dorado Hills, or seeking a Thoroughbred from a breeder in El Dorado Hills.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in El Dorado Hills already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a El Dorado Hills breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Thoroughbred breeders who help with Thoroughbred rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in El Dorado Hills paves the way for another one to be saved.
