Rosco is a 6 year old neutered male Shepherd mix who came to the shelter because his owner could no longer care for him. He will be available for adoption on December 2nd after 6pm. It appears that Rosco is house trained, good with other dogs, but his behavior with cats is unknown. Rosco has lived with older children , but is unknown how he will be around smaller children. He does enjoy riding in a car and loves to chase after balls. He does know his basic commands of sit, stay, down and will come to a whistle. He loves to go camping, but he is gun shy. He is accustom to sleeping at the foot of the bed as a foot warmer. Rosco is currently in a foster home. Please call the shelter and make arrangements to meet him.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rosco, a Meridian Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shepherd (Unknown Type) for sale in Meridian, or seeking a Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Meridian.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Meridian already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Meridian breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shepherd (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Shepherd (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Meridian paves the way for another one to be saved.
