Bandit's Story...
Bandit (see his brother Benny too!) is a 10 month old keeshound-shepherd mix puppy. He has been vaccinated, dewormed, deflead, and tested for heartworms. He will be neutered and started on routine monthly heartworm and flea preventative soon. Bandit is a wonderful happy boy who loves to give kisses. He would love a home with someone to play with and give him lots of love. We adopted out 4 of their siblings this past year (Diego, Sid, Jesse, & Red). These 2 have been living outside and breaking out of their fenced yard. The 4 siblings we adopted out have all turned in to wonderful house pets - they were housebroken remarkably easily despite their previous outdoor life. They are very smart, sweet, and affectionated dogs. They are great with children and good with other dogs. We are unsure of their behavior with cats.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bandit, a Blacksburg Keeshond dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Keeshond for sale in Blacksburg, or seeking a Keeshond dog from a breeder in Blacksburg.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Blacksburg already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Blacksburg breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Keeshond breeders who help with Keeshond rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Blacksburg paves the way for another one to be saved.
