Mae's Story...
MAE was rescued from an overcrowded high kill shelter. She is a stunning cat, with a cherub face, sparkling emerald green eyes and a awesome personality to match. Mae is very sweet, gentle and endearing. When she wants attention, she will politely come over and gently head butt your hand hoping for some chin scratches. She seems to know when you are "busy" and isn't overly demanding of your time. She is a large size cat with a med-long hair length that needs frequent grooming to keep her looking her best. She is a relatively calm and quiet cat. She has learned to accept the other cats in her foster home but she would be happiest being an only cat. She is OK with the cat friendly dog in her foster home.
Mae was suffering with painful bladder stones when we rescued her and she had surgery to remove them. A recent followup ultrasound showed that she also has kidney stones but since there isn't any treatment to remove kidney stones they will remain for the rest of her life. They do not seem to bother her but it is highly recommended that she have her blood and urine frequently checked to monitor her kidney function. She must be kept on a special diet from the veterinary office ....which helps maintains the PH levels in her urine and to help prevent any re-occurances. Hopefully, someone with a heart can overlook her medical history and open up their home to this exceptionally sweet girl. Mae is currently being fostered in Scarborough. If you are interested in meeing her, please email us. Adoption fee is $175.00. She is current on vaccines, spayed, microchipped, tested negative for FeLV/FIV

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mae, a Richmond Hill Domestic Longhair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Longhair for sale in Richmond Hill, or seeking a Domestic Longhair cat from a breeder in Richmond Hill.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Richmond Hill already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Richmond Hill breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Longhair breeders who help with Domestic Longhair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Richmond Hill paves the way for another one to be saved.
