My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Augusta and Georgia have never met a cat, dog, or person they didn't like. They also love each other, play time, dinner time, nap time, lap time, day time, night time . . . actually, we have yet to find anything they don't love. For people who are considering adopting cats for the first time, meeting these girls will make you sorry that you didn't add cats to your family a long time ago.

These two gorgeous tabby girls are very bonded siblings, who have been together since they were born in April 2011. They will be adopted as a pair only.
August and Georgia are still kittens in their spunky playfulness, but they are beyond the fragile first few months and the crazy, climbing-the-curtains phase. Although they are very similar in attitude and appearance, it's easy to see that each has a very distinct personality. Augusta is the curious adventurer, who will follow her nose into every available nook and cranny that needs exploring. Georgia, meanwhile, will mosey along behind to see what she's up to, but before long she will be hanging out on your lap, waiting for Augusta to complete her explorations and come back for a cuddle.

Augusta also likes to jump on tall things, and that may include a back bent over the sink for toothbrushing, or any empty shoulder. When it's time to change shoulders, she may choose to take the shortest route, across the top of the head. She's very thoughtful in her technique, but those who aren't comfortable with that sort of coziness should not apply.

Their beautiful coats are soft and shiny, and shed very little. They enjoy being combed and don't mind having their nail trimmed. Their litter box habits and house manners are impeccable, and they have no health issues. They are looking for a home where they can have plenty of love and attention, and they will return it many times over.

Augusta and Georgia, like all ARCF cats for adoption, have been spayed, microchipped, are up to date on vaccines, and have tested negative for FeLV and FIV.

If you are interested in meeting Augusta and Georgia, please fill out the "I'm interested" form at our website, and our adoption coordinator will respond promptly. Please note that we place cats in the following counties only: Multnomah, Washington, Clackamas and Clark.

Animal Rescue & Care Fund, Inc. is a small rescue organization. We rescue homeless animals only, and do not accept owner-surrendered pets. All our animals live with volunteers in their homes until they are matched with the right permanent family. Thank you for considering one of our pets for adoption.
