Shawn- Adopted's Story...
Shawn is an excellent dog. He is a yellow lab/smooth coated collie mix, taking primarily after the lab in both looks and temperament, but has half up ears, a more narrow face, and some white markings.
He is 9 months old, and weighs 65 pounds now, he is expected to be about 75-80 pounds at full weight.
He is a very sweet, easy going dog, lab/collie seems to make a great mix. He has great stamina, so is happy to accompany you on outdoor activities, and needs either daily walks or time in a fenced yard, but isn't hyper and bouncy, with endless amounts of energy like a typical lab puppy. He's a little more reserved with new people than your average lab. Rather than bounding up to new people and giving them kisses, he would wait rather wait for you to introduce them.
His current foster has several children, ranging from 18 months to 12 years, and he's great with all of them. He's very patient with small children, lets them pet him, hang on him, cuddle up with him, and doesn't jump up, so you don't have to worry about him knocking a toddler over.
He loves other dogs, but since he is a large male, I would suggest he only go with female dog(s). He is also fine with cats.
When you're with him, he's well behaved in the house and housetrained, but he is definately still a puppy, and when left alone, he will find things to chew up, and occasionally have an accident, but he is crate trained, so is fine to be crated when you leave him alone/are at work, he just doesn't need to go to a home where he's going to be crated all day, everyday, without at least a break in the middle.
He would be perfect for a family with a stay at home mom, kids, and a fenced yard.
