My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Before being rescued, Presley spent his life chained to a doghouse and all this boy wanted was love and attention, and a soft place to cuddle up. Since being placed with his foster family in Northern Illinois, this one year old boy is quickly learning his indoor manners. Presley is crate trained and his housebreaking is coming along nicely. He gets along very well with his coonhound foster sisters and spends hours outside running and playing with them. After playing hard outside, he likes to come in and take a nap in his crate. He is in good weight at 75 lbs.

Presley is a real Casanova! He likes nothing better than playing with his family and receiving lots of praise and petting. He likes to bury his head in your chest when he wants attention. He has a beautiful, shiny coat and loves to snuggle with his foster family. If allowed on the couch, he behaves very well and will place his head in his foster mom's lap for a long ear rub or chin scratch. When he's not allowed on the couch, he prefers to chew on a rawhide or pig's ear to keep him occupied. His foster family is working on teaching Presley basic commands such as sit and stay. Since he loves treats, he seems to be catching on quickly. Presley's foster dad takes him on long walks twice a day and is proud to say Presley's leash manners are slowly improving. He is good with children, but due to his size and youth, he's still a bit clumsy and may knock down very small chilcren. He ignores the family cat but is crazy about the cat food. He is an energetic boy who will need lots of exercise and outdoor time. Presley is trained to an invisible fence and does fine with it. He will do best in a family that has a canine sibling to play with and a strong, dedicated owner who can help this lovable boy become the best dog he can be.
