Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hello potential beagle family!
My name is Kiara. My foster mama likes to call me Baby Kiara because I am so small. I am a 13” beagle and I weigh about 17 pounds now. I still need to gain a few more pounds to be at my optimum weight.
I was found wondering around all by myself in West Virginia and the nice people at BREW rescued me.
I am 8 months old, spayed and updated on all of my shots. I am currently working on the housetraining with foster mama and doing well when in my doggy crate, but kinda forget where the door is when I am busy playing with all of my friends and toys, and then I sorta do a #1 in the house. I always do my other business outside. Foster mama always catches me and says that “no” word…I stop…and she shows me to the door and then I finish! Whew! This training stuff is hard.
I did learn one thing mama taught me. I sit for a treat and before I get my food bowl. How is that for bright?!
I have 6 other doggy friends here at my foster home, including 4 beagles, 2 large breed dogs. I have also made friends with an outdoor kitty who lives on the farm. I am just a loving, friendly, happy and playful beagle puppy who enjoys playing with toys and snuggling in a cozy doggy bed.
I tend to eat very fast…I will put my paw on the food bowl if you try to move it while I am eating, probably because I went for a long time without the proper amount of food. I only weighed 15 pounds when they rescued me (which is way too thin) and so I tend to be overly excited around food, even people food, so you have to be careful leaving snacks or food lying around within my reach. Foster mama says “no” a lot when I am in the kitchen and “down” even more when they are sitting at the big table in the breakfast room. Hmmm wonder why??? I am getting it…slow, but sure.
My best attribute is snuggling and sleeping. I play hard and when I am done, I love to snuggle up with you in a chair or on the couch and take a nap. I sleep in a crate at night like a baby beagle and snuggle with my stuffed sheep.
I would love to find my forever family and start loving you all as soon as I can, so take a look at my adorable pictures and give me a chance
<3 Baby Kiara.
Update from Foster Mom: Baby Kiara had kennel cough when I first brought her home and has been on antibiotic for 7 days. She will continue the antibiotic for another 7 days, but she is doing much better. Her cough is now non-productive and her sneezing and runny nose has stopped. She is acting like a happy and healthy beagle!
