Beetle's Info...
| Breed: | Domestic Shorthair | Color: | Tiger Striped | Age: | Kitten |
| Sex: | Male | Hair: | Short |
Beetle came in to foster care from a colony that was targeted for a huge TNR (trap, neuter & return) project. He was initially with his brother Cricket and both of them were expected to become barn cats, but they had other ideas! Cricket became tame faster than Beetle and went to a new home. Now it is Beetle's turn -- he is healthy and sweet and wants to cuddle at every opportunity! Beetle will flop on his back for a tummy rub as soon as you make eye contact with him! He really does not want to be a barn cat, but would prefer to stay inside where is it warm and dry, and he would love it if his special friend Duggles could stay there with him.
Rescue Group Info...
Cowichan Cat Rescue is a federally registered charity, entirely staffed by volunteers and funded by donations, operating a trap, neuter, and return program (TNR) for feral and stray cats in the Cowichan Valley since 1999. We take in all kittens found young enough to socialize, foster them until they are spayed/neutered and vaccinated, and then adopt them out to forever homes. We also try to find barn and warehouse homes for feral cats which must be relocated due to loss of habitat or problems with property owners.

Many of our kittens can be seen at Duncan Pets (250-746-4833) and the rest of our adoptables are in foster homes. Arrangements to meet these cats and kittens can be made by calling Cowichan Cat Rescue at 250-743-6500 and leaving a message for a call back. We try to return calls within 24 hours, but sometimes it takes a little longer.
Most of our kittens are adopted out through Duncan Pets, a locally owned full service pet store. Prospective adopters are interviewed and screened by store employees and the terms of the adoption reviewed with them. There is a thirty day health guarantee and a seven day return policy for any other reason. Cost is $125.00 and all kittens are spay/neutered, vaccinated and treated for parasites before adoption.
Cats and kittens not suitable for adoption through the pet store are adopted out directly from the foster homes. Cost and guarantees may vary depending on the special needs of the kitten.
We serve the Cowichan Valley from Malahat through Duncan to Chemainus, Vancouver Island, BC, Canada
