LUCA's Story...

THIS IS LUCA....who was formerly Skipper on our website 5 years ago. Yes, this 4.8 lb, gorgeous, sweet, now 10 yrs old (11 in January), purebred Maltese was adopted from us 5 years ago and recently returned. The family lost their home and their jobs and they gave Luca back to us in deplorable condition. They said they didn't have the money to take care of him, but how much could a 4.8 lb dog eat? He was matted to the bone, his nails were overgrown and he was timid and frightened. He would not eat. We have done bloodwork on Luca and he is healthy...he just really needs a pet parent(s) who will love him to life and give him the security we thought we had given him. He does sleep a lot, but he is curious and loves to check out his digs. He walked up three flights of stairs at my house! He loves to cuddle under the covers with you and is so tiny, he's almost invisible...unless he whines telling you he wants some love and attention. This is a little angel who needs a place to put his halo at the end of the day! If you are looking for a genuine pocket pooch, this would be your guy. He gets along wonderfully with the other dogs...but doesn't need anyone but you!

Our website is updated daily. Please do not apply for this dog unless your home fits the specified criteria. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, groomed, vet checked, dewormed, deflea'd and come with a leash, collar and ID tag!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

LUCA, a Los Angeles Maltese dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maltese for sale in Los Angeles, or seeking a Maltese dog from a breeder in Los Angeles.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Los Angeles already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Los Angeles breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maltese breeders who help with Maltese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Los Angeles paves the way for another one to be saved.
