My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You’re not seeing double! These gorgeous, golden-eyed brothers are not quite identical twins, but probably only their close family members will be able to tell them apart.

We first met Jamie and Jasper when they were very young, very sick, and very frightened. A Good Samaritan found them in her yard and took them to the vet for immediate care, but this senior citizen already had too many cats of her own and asked if we could take over their care and find them new homes.

Our foster volunteers spent many hours nursing them through their awful respiratory infection, and although the boys quickly learned to love the indoor life, they were still shy and easily startled. But it’s amazing what a few months of tender, loving care can do!

Jamie and Jasper were born in May 2011, so they are now teenagers, the perfect age for play, play, and more play, with a little downtime for snoozing and cuddling. They are developing confidence and learning to love attention and affection. Jamie is the boss of the outfit, and he can’t wait for somebody to get down on the floor and make a lap. Jasper prefers to stretch out nearby, in position for a belly rub. He keeps an eye on Jamie for clues about what is ok and what isn’t.

They adore the feather toy (“Da Bird”), the Cat Dancer, and the trackball. Actually, they love all kinds of toys, and seem to have endless energy for games and flying through the air. And boy, oh boy, do they love food! No worries about getting them to clean up their plate, especially if canned food is on the menu. Little treats of all kinds are also extremely well-received. Their litter box habits are perfect and they are/ in excellent health.

These boys look like stunning miniature pumas with their sleek and shiny black coats. They seem interested in the dogs and other cats in their foster home, and probably would get along with any friendly pet, given a proper introduction.

Although Jamie and Jasper don’t care for being picked up and carried around, they will continue to blossom into loving and playful companions. Experienced cat parents will enjoy them as entertaining, energetic kittens now, and reap the rewards of developing a bond with them as they mature and learn about all the good things that life has to offer

Jamie and Jasper, ARCF cats for adoption, have been neutered, microchipped, are up to date on vaccines, and have tested negative for FeLV and FIV.

If you are interested in meeting Jamie and Jasper, please fill out the "I'm interested" form at our website, and our adoption coordinator will respond promptly. Please note that we place cats in the following counties only: Multnomah, Washington, Clackamas and Clark.
