My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Samantha is a 4 year old, only 14 pound, purebred beagle. She comes to us for her retirement from a research facility. She was well cared for and has a very very sweet nature. She now lives in a foster home with two cats and a German Shepherd. She gets along great with everyone! She is very curious and attentive to odd noises. She just can't figure out those birds flying in the sky. Sammie loves to meet other dogs. She likes to go for a run every couple of days. Although most of the beagles who retire from research tend to be a bit more subdued, Sammie takes life in with gusto. She would love an active family. But be warned: She will only settle down at night if her foster mom sings to her....really!! She would prefer to sleep on the bed with her people, curled like a cat. But she does sleep nightly in her crate. Samantha does know "sit" and is coming along great on her potty training. After 4 years of not going outside, it is tough to make sure all potties happen out there, but Sammie is close. Sammie walks great on leash but would love a fenced area to run and let those big ears really flap!
