Vinnie's Story...
Vinnie here. Most people see a plain brown dog when they glance at my photo. That's why I don't get much attention here on the web site. I've been at CARE about 3 years in human time, and in that time I've seen the fluffy ones, the spotted ones, and heaven help us---the blued eyed ones--fly out of here like hot cakes on a cold winter morning. Barbie dogs, I call'em. No one seems to notice my cute white toes, that spiffy white chest and the stylish white tip on my tail.

You really have to see me in person to notice that my smile is like a dolphin's. The volunteers who work here know what I mean. I'm a big hit with them. They have pet names for me like Vin Vin or Vinnie Boo. Kinda silly I know, but hey, you take what you can get when someone notices you are more than just a plain brown dog. They'll tell you that I'm very people oriented. Frankly, I've had enough kennel mates to last me the rest of my life---human companionship is what I crave. I wouldn't mind if I never saw another dog. Sometimes my big-dog attitude gets me in trouble with actual big dogs, so I'll do best in a one-dog family or with a very laid back pack.

Clowning around is my favorite past time; I know when I've made a person laugh and that just makes my day. I haven't been tested on cats or house manners, but I'm eager to please and if I don't pass the test I'll study hard to make it up next time. I love going places on a leash and have greeted the few kids I've met with gentle, tail-wagging enthusiasm.

One good thing about living in rescue so long is that I'm not needy. I'm low-maintenance in every way. My short coat which shines whether I'm groomed daily or not. Try that with your average Barbie pup! I can be satisfied in your fenced yard all day while you are at work, if you will spend time with me on evenings and weekends. I'm not a barker so I won't disturb the neighbors. If you have been denying yourself the love and loyalty of a good dog buddy because you can't be with him 24/7, I'm your boy.

About Our Rescue Group...
We are a small all volunteer state licensed non-profit rescue in rural Georgia. Our county does NOT have animal control so the public and deputies are allowed to control strays by shooting them. It is pathetic that in 2012 we are allowed to shoot domestic companion animals as stray control. We are working hard to save what we can and are willing to transport our adoptable pets to the area to give them more exposure and a second chance for a forever home. We have many more available pets than what we have posted. Contact us if you are looking for something in particular or if you aren't looking for a particular breed but know size and age range we'll get back to you with what we have.
Come Meet Our Pets...
We are presently not holding adoption events in the area but we do bring preadopted pets to their forever homes once a week.
We have a nice selection of puppies, adults and seniors available for adoption so if you are looking to add a new pet to your household please contact us. Email gets a faster response.
Our Adoption Process...
Minimum requirements:
1. At least 25 yrs. old
2. Steady employment (this will be checked)
3. Valid driver's license
4. Vet reference
We have an application and phone interview process. There is an adoption fee usually $200. All of our dogs are vet examined w/ fecal, heartworm test, spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations including rabies, deworming, microchip and on flea & heartworm preventative.
Every pet transported is examined by a GA licensed vet and have a current health certificate.
