Jake's Story...
Jake is a 3-4 year old boy currently in the Kansas City, MO area. In good weight at 83 pounds, Jake is laid-back and very good with people. He has not been tested with cats but he ignored the goats and horses at his current foster home. Jake has settled into his foster home and is blossoming into such a great boy. He is crate trained and reliably house broken. He has very good house manners. He gets along with the other hounds but mostly, he ignores them. He is dominant with the other males but is mellowing. Jake would be good in a single dog environment. He really only has eyes for his foster mom. He wants love and attention and has lots to return. He loves to take walks and is quite content to hang around in the house all day. He's in great health. He's waiting for that special person or family to call his own.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jake, a Dallas Black and Tan Coonhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Black and Tan Coonhound for sale in Dallas, or seeking a Black and Tan Coonhound dog from a breeder in Dallas.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Dallas already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Dallas breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Black and Tan Coonhound breeders who help with Black and Tan Coonhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Dallas paves the way for another one to be saved.
