My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Thank you for taking a moment to read Maia's bio. Maia has a great personality and would fit into almost every home environment. Maia is great with Kids and loves People! This is Maia, she is approximately 5-6 years old and has a very calm personality. In June Maia was rescued from Animal Control hours before she was due to be put to sleep. Maia is so grateful she will have a second chance to show a family her loyalty and also what a great girl she is. Maia has a great personality and demonstrates this in so many ways. This sweet girl is just happy to spend time with people and is just as content being left by herself while you go to work or have plans for the day. She walks perfectly on a leash and loves her daily walks. Maia knows multiple commands (sit, stay, down, etc), she is house trained and crate trained. This beautiful dog has the sweetest temperament with people and would show her loyalty to . The best home environment for Maia would be an only do home. Maia is great with kids, she is very calm and nurturing with a great mother's instinct. When we took Maia into rescue it was obvious that she had many liters and not allowed the time to , but now she is very healthy and Maia She also has a high prey drive and likes to chase squirrels and cats... Maia will demonstrate to her furever family her loyalty and we are certain she will make a family very happy. Maias favorite pass time is cuddling and Maia will literally hug you with her front paws, thats right hug you! Maia loves to go for walks and play, but does not require a lot of exercise. She is the perfect family dog! *Update* 7-22-2011: Maia earned her AKC Canine Good Citizen Certificate. We had no doubts, she passed with flying colors! We believe Canine Good Citizen training as the first step in training their dogs. As you work with your dog to teach the CGC skills, you'll discover the many benefits and joys of training your dog. Training will enhance the bond between you and your dog. Dogs who have a solid obedience education are a joy to live with-they respond well to household routines, have good manners in the presence of people and other dogs, and they fully enjoy the company of the owner who took the time to provide training, intellectual stimulation, and a high quality life. AKCs Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Program is one of the most rapidly growing programs in the American Kennel Club. There are many exciting applications of this wonderful, entry level that go beyond the testing and certifying of dogs. Please visit the American Kennel Club site for more details about the CGC: http://www.akc.org/events/cgc/ Maia has been checked; up to date on shots, de-wormed, spayed, as well as being up to date on heartworm and flea and tick prevention. Adoption donation for Maia is $150, which goes back into the rescue to save more lives of those without voices. Please contact Laurie at 407-744-7369 or Michael (386) 804-7185 or email anotherchancerescuecfl@yahoo.com if you would like to meet Maia.
