Lucy is fearful and barky with men. If she’s with a man and they allow her to come to them, she usually makes friends fairly quickly, but even if she sees the same man everyday, she still goes through that barky process with them every time. We go to the dog park and she is great off leash with men around as long as they don’t reach for her-if they do she backs up and barks at them. The fear has never escalated to aggression, but she needs to be with someone who won’t pity her and reward the behavior (this seems to be most people’s instinct), but someone who will correct the behavior. In the wrong home, it has the potential to become bad behavior. I think being in a home with another dog would be particularly helpful for her.
Lucy's foster situation is short-term. She needs to find her forever home soon! Who wouldn't want a dog that's wonderful in so many ways?
