Parker - Courtesy Post's Story...
Parker is a 6-year-old Shepherd-mix, about 60 pounds and medium-large size. He is house-trained, but does not like being in a crate. He is very friendly and food motivated. He will walk long distances and even jog alongside you. He needs exercise and attention. He is easy to train as he is food motivated and he hardly barks. He does a have a little separation anxiety, so when leaving him home alone, he needs a dog pen or a garage/basement. Currently, when we leave him home alone, I leave all his toys out and I leave out empty plastic bottles for him to "get into". He likes empty water or soda bottles. He leaves everything else alone. He loves people and other dogs. He won't hurt smaller animals, but he will chase them. He chased our cat, but never hurt him.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Parker - Courtesy Post, a Rochester/Buffalo German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Rochester/Buffalo, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Rochester/Buffalo.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Rochester/Buffalo already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Rochester/Buffalo breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Rochester/Buffalo paves the way for another one to be saved.
