Barney's Story...
I’m Barney, and if I may say so... I’m adorable. And, if it’s ok to admit… I’m feeling lonely and a bit sad. I really enjoy the other dogs here, I don’t mind them one bit and I would love to find a family that has other dogs, or no dogs at all...either way is fine by me. I won’t mind if there are older children in my family either, as long as they are patient and respectful. If it’s ok for me to say so…rescue is no place for a gentle, loving and shy guy like me…I need a warm bed and soft hearted person…a place I can blossom…a person to make me feel secure. This is where you come in. I’ve had a long journey , bounced from place to place…I just want to settle in for the holidays, in a place I can call my forever home… 5 years old-23lbs. My adoption fee is $160 and includes; microchip, neuter, reduced cost training Class, 1 month pet health insurance, Free veterinary exam, leash/collar, food sample, toy & Treat packet.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Barney, a Portland Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle for sale in Portland, or seeking a Beagle dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle breeders who help with Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
