Emmy Lou's Story...
Emmy Lou is a partial Russian Blue mix with a funny little creamy strip down her nose. She is about 4 1/2 years old. She is in good health. Her earlier chances to be adopted were put on hold due to a fire that destroyed our home & shelter area in late 2007. All of the cats had to be relocated until the facility was rebuilt. She is very sweet & loving! She loves to be held & petted but enjoys her catnaps also! She has never been around dogs before but we think she is laid back & would do ok with them. She loves children & other cats! We would love for Emmy Lou to find her furrever home where she would receive more of the one-on-one attention that she truly deserves!

About Our Shelter...
Kastaway Kitties is a private non-profit rescue & sanctuary for homeless, stray, abandoned, abused & unwanted kittens & cats. Kitties are housed in their own buildings surrounded by cat containment fencing. I began rescuing cats many years ago but officially began to think of myself as Kastaway Kitties in 2005. We are staffed solely by non paid volunteers. We are currently raising money to apply for our 501 (c) 3 status. All cats are spayed/neutered as soon as they are old enough. Our goal is to provide a loving, safe environment & educate the public about spay/neuter programs in our area, while promoting adoptions to their furrever homes. Our Adoption Process...
Our adoption fee is $50.00 along with a signed adoption contract & agreement with references. The adoption fee is reinvested into getting more spay/neuters done for other kitties. We will also do a home check/follow-up visits/calls to assure the cat & the adopter have adjusted to each other & the household. We reserve the right to not adopt out kittens in households with very young children. Each adopter must agree not to declaw the kitty as we consider that animal cruelty. We try to return calls/emails as soon as we can but please allow a reasonable time for us to follow up. All calls & emails will normally be returned in the late afternoon due to caring for the kittens & cats during the day,

We are in a very high kill area where cats are oftentimes treated as vermin. We rescue kitties from the streets and our local animal control facility. We rely completely on donations to help these sweeties. Our goal is to rescue, vet them & find loving adoptive homes.
