My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Harley is a delightful purebred Golden Retriever. His foster mom writes:

Harley is coming right along. He is a great tempered boy who is learning to be a companion. . . all new to him. He crates easily for those times when he can't be supervised. He will eventually figure out all of the new things but will need your patience and loving guidance and leadership about many things, including the house rules.

Harley is tall and handsome and 7 years young -much like a puppy in an adult body. I don't feel he has lived in a home (as evidenced by his lack of potty training before he came to GRFR and general unfamiliarity with things in the house like glass doors. I also don't feel that he was treated nicely by men before he came to GRFR. Poor guy -- he ducks when a man reaches out to pet him. He is very sweet to all dogs. I don't have cats so we don't have data there yet. Harley jumps in easily and rides nicely in the car. I think he really needs a dog sibling in his forever home to help build up his confidence and to have lots of doggy fun together.

Harley enjoys going for leash walks though he is still figuring out just how the leash works. I wouldn't trust him off leash for awhile - his recall is not reliable yet, probably because, so far, he doesn't know the name Harley yet.

As you can see from his photos, Harley is a loving Golden with the sweetest eyes and Golden heart. He will share lots of affection and gratitude with you if you make him your furry family member. "I sure will!"
