Captain's Story...
~~~~UPDATE 2/28/12~~~
Well.. all of the puppies have homes except Captain! He is so lonely without his siblings! Captain is a great boy. Laid back personality and friendly. At 12 weeks old, he will lay quietly by my desk on his blanket and take naps or chew his bone. Mind you, this is an office environment with people and dogs coming and going... amazing boy! He is doing great on his potty training and most times, goes all night without an accident. Can't ask much more than that from a 12 week old pup!! Captain has received his 3rd round of vaccinations and his adoption fee is $110.00. He will be receiving his last round at 16 weeks. If you are interested in this sweet boy, please email for your adoption application!
~~~UPDATE 2/17/12~~~
The puppies are 11 weeks TODAY! They are so adorable and growing so quickly. We are down to just 2 boys, Peter Pan and Captain! Adoption fee is $70 till next Friday (2/24/12) as at 12 weeks they receive 3 vaccinations and the fee will go up accordingly. These boys are super sweet and cuddly... they love playing with other dogs and children. Still very much babies! They are large for their size and beginning to have different features... email for your application TODAY. These adorable boys won't last long!

~~UPDATE 1/27/12~~
Puppies are now 8 weeks old and received 2 more of their puppy vaccinations! They are growing sooo fast and getting soooo BIG! Rufio topped the chart this morning weighing in at 15.6!! That is a BIG boy!! :) The puppies vary in size all the way down to Michael at 11.2. There are 8 puppies remaining - 5 boys and 3 girls. Please email for your application for these lil cuties! You may also request updated pictures of the puppies still available. With the additional vaccinations, the adoption fee is now $70.
AWOL is bursting at the seams with Beauty's new litter. Since there is so many, we are reducing our adoption fee and allowing the 'new' family to select the veterinarian of their choice to care for their new bundle of fur! This allows the puppy to go to his/her new home MUCH sooner! The adoption fee will be $45 and that will include the baby's first shots and worming at 6 weeks. The baby's new family will need to continue the 'new' puppy's vaccinations and will have up to 6 months to have their baby spayed/neutered. AWOL feels that is a better time to alter a puppy for the longevity of the puppies health, as well as recommended by most veterinarians.
~~~UPDATE~~~ 1/10/12
AWOL picked Beauty up 11/23/11 and the shelter said she MIGHT be pregnant. HA HA HA! She delivered 13 puppies 12/2/11 and 11 survived. Honestly, I am not sure what the MIX is, but they are super cute. Beauty is a small framed lil momma. Not sure what the dad was, but I am guessing a medium size dog. The puppies are adorable! There are 5 males and 6 females. Colors range from 3 black with white-speckled markings, 1 solid white, 1 champagne with white markings, and the rest are white with black spots scattered randomly about! The pups are at 9 days old today and will be ready for adoption in 6 weeks. Email for an application. PLEASE NO PHONE CALLS. There are 11 puppies available and no way we could keep up with the phone calls. Appointments will be scheduled AFTER your application has been submitted and reviewed.
Why Adoption is a Great Option
Captain, a DFW Pointer/Great Dane puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pointer/Great Dane for sale in DFW, or seeking a Pointer/Great Dane puppy from a breeder in DFW.
  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in DFW already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a DFW breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pointer/Great Dane breeders who help with Pointer/Great Dane rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in DFW paves the way for another one to be saved.
