Pancake's Story...
Meet Pancake, a sweet puggle we met on our latest trip to Chicago Animal Care and Control. She was brought in as a stray with chemical burns all over her body. She was treated by ACC's great vet staff for weeks, and she let them apply lotions and ointments without making a fuss. She is almost completely healed, although she may have the left-over scarring forever. Once she has healed, she shouldn't have any long-term medical bills as a result of the burns.

One thing becomes very clear immediately upon meeting Pancake: her spirit has NOT been broken! She is full of energy, love, and absolutely loves people and dogs. We'll update her profile with more information and photos as we have them, but in the meantime check out NLOL's facebook page for more pictures or fill out an application to make Pancake a new member of your family!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Pancake, a Chicago Pug/Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pug/Beagle for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Pug/Beagle dog from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pug/Beagle breeders who help with Pug/Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
