Vixen's Story...
If you are looking for that "very special" gift...that keeps on giving, we'd like to suggest you take a look at this face. Cute as a button with lots of puppy style wiggles and love. Vixen is a younger, approximately 2 years, Border Collie/McNab mix who recently came to the shelter as a stray. She has a happy demeanor and likes to romp and play, she walks on lead and knows how to sit on command. Vixen will do well with lots of attention and exercise. She is gentle and appears to do will with children but is very active so may knock down the younger ones. Since she was a stray we are uncertain how she behaves with other dogs and cats. She does well in her kennel and appears housetrained. Vixen is now available for adoption and could go home as soon as she is spayed. Please stop by and bring the household to meet this wonderful girl.

If you want to apply for this dog click here.
You can then email the application to the Meridian Animal Shelter.

Applications are now being accepted, and a visitation with the dog is encouraged.
All applications will be considered and the adoption coordinator will call the person chosen to adopt the dog after the available date.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Vixen, a Meridian Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie for sale in Meridian, or seeking a Border Collie dog from a breeder in Meridian.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Meridian already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Meridian breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie breeders who help with Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Meridian paves the way for another one to be saved.
