Sweeney's Story...
Whoa! Who's that strapping young lad?? That's Sweeney - quite possibly, the most handsome cat around! (or at least, that's what the ladies are saying!) Sweeney will steal your heart with his chirp-style vocals, party antics and just plain ole 'let your hair down' attitude towards life. Sweeney almost didn't get his second chance in life. He was abandoned at a heavily populated local kill-shelter with a slim to none chance of getting adopted. Without the intervention of Virtually Home, Sweeney would not be here today. This young, energetic, positive cat is nothing short of fun! You can't help but be happy and smile when you meet Sweeney because he is just as happy to meet you - and chirps to tell you so! Sweeney would LOVE to have a family where there is another young cat - because this guys LOVES to play and needs a buddy (or two!); and we have a hunch Sweeney would consider dogs cool, if you have one!.

If you are looking to adopt, you just have to make time to meet Sweeney...you'll be glad you did!! Call or email Cindy to set up a time 773.203.0215 / cindy@virtuallyhomechicago.org

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sweeney, a Chicago Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
