Prince is currently in foster in GA. Please read his story. His foster family is working so hard with this angel to make sure he has a wonderful life. If you love the breed you will understand how special this boy is:

UPDATE 2/16/13

I know in the rescue world, 15 months is not long to find a home for some dogs and around 6,000 of his breed are putdown every day, and that is really a hard thing to cope with. We were just his sponsors, had him vetted and neutered, then the foster backed out and would not continue to house him. Now he stays with us.

We have had several call, email etc, but no one has come to see him. Prince istruly an amazing dog, but needs someone who knows and understands his breed and willing to give him the exercise he needs. We will continue to get his story out. Thank you for taking the time to read it.

He needs to be an only pet. He might be OK with a fish tank. He does well with children. He also had a couple of weeks at boot camp for socialization.

UPDATE 1/26/12

After 2 weeks of camp we picked him on Monday (1/23/12), and have continued with the training he learned.  Were told he is very responsive to correction and wants to please.  He would make a great only dog or could live with other dogs of equal size.  However, we are going to work with him and teach him to tolerate theChihuahua foster we have, LOL, I’ll let you know how that goes.  We did purchase a “wire basket” muzzle, so he could continue to socialize with the other fosters we have, it is for our sanity and the safety of the other dogs and not because he has been aggressive, but bullies play hard, and I’m no Cesar.  Yesterday he was out with our 2 year old Golden,  a 9 month old Carolina Dog and a 5 month old deaf American Bull Dog, all female.  He did great.  We plan on working with him more, weather permitting, and introducing more dogs to him.  I will take some photos of him with other dogs and send those to you, I hope this will increase his adoptability.  He still has not growled at any of the other dogs in the room with him, even when they bark at him.

This is his story as told by the people that found him on their door step:

This little guy showed up on our back porch a few nights ago (12/3/11). When we found him, he looked to have been sleeping and was settled in for the night.  We thought he would be gone the next day and left him alone.  But when we got up, he was still here, just sitting quietly by our back door.  We checked to see if he had a tag with any info, so we could report him being found, but instead his collar had a message which read 'My name is Prince. I don't bite, Please love me'.   Looking at him you can see that is really all he wants, to be loved.  Our backyard is not fenced, but he stayed all day and is sleeping in our garage, so finding him a home is urgent.  We have no way to keep him.  Prince is a gentle, friendly and is relatively calm for a high energy dog.  He approaches in a submissive way, but seems to always be wagging his tail.  Prince understands, but is not consistent with some commands, like “sit”, “down” and “stay”, with a little training he would be on track.

Prince has been neutered and vetted.   All he needs now is a home to hang his collar, hopefully a new one, message no longer needed.
