Izzy's Story...
I’m Izzy! Are you looking for a charming little pup to add to your family? Then I am the dog for you! They say I’m a mix of Australian Shepherd and Border Collie – but I say that I’m just plain cute. I mean, look at these awesome fuzzy ears! I am only around 8 weeks old and need to find a forever family who will give me lots of exercise, teach me how to be a good dog, and, most of all, give me lots of love. I had a rough start in life, but the great people at ARF got me back on my paws and I’m better than ever! Now I just need a forever home.

What else can I tell you…I adore all people and love nothing more than cuddling on their laps – especially if you have a toy that I can chew on! I would also be thrilled to share my home with another canine friend or two. You see, I am young and have lots of energy to burn off. A brother or sister would be a great playmate for me! I have also heard of this thing called puppy school and I would love to check that out too! I bet that I would be the star of the class.

Oh, there is one other little thing. I was born blind and some might call me a special needs dog because of it. However, I get around just fine and am smarter than your average puppy. I already know my name, how to go outside, and how to go to bed. The sky is the limit for me, if someone will just give me a chance!

Would you be willing to give me a forever home? If so, contact Marsha at 440-759-9269 or jmtglass@yahoo.com. I’m hanging out in a foster home, so she will set up a visit. Can’t wait to meet you!

** The adoption fee helps to cover the general veterinarian check-up, heartworm test, spay/neuter, basic vaccinations, rabies vaccination, worming, flea preventative, and microchip that all dogs adopted through Berea ARF receive prior to going into their new home.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Izzy, a Berea Australian Shepherd/Border Collie puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Shepherd/Border Collie for sale in Berea, or seeking a Australian Shepherd/Border Collie puppy from a breeder in Berea.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Berea already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Berea breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Shepherd/Border Collie breeders who help with Australian Shepherd/Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Berea paves the way for another one to be saved.
