My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Pretty Payton is a lovely, girly 2 yr old. Payton has been through so much in her short life and is just as sweet as pie.

If you would like to help with her care while she is in rescue, please go our homepage: azdanerescue.petfinder.com and click on Donate!!! Thank you for caring.

This sweet girl was found wandering the streets with a male great dane. They were taken to a local shelter where the male was picked up by the owners and Payton was left behind. There was an obvious problem with her back right leg & hip, so we thought.

In the time Miss Payton has been with us, a Guardian Angel stepped up to help with her medical expenses and here are the findings: B4 Payton came to the Alliance, it seems this poor danes pelvis was fractured in 3 different places and went untreated. Our orthopedic vet, Dr Pullen, says based on the calcification, these injuries are at least 3 months old. One can assume this poor sweet girl suffered in great pain for some time. Now, she is receiving house rest to continue her healing.

Dr. Pullen would like to see Payton in 3 months to see how she is doing. At such time, a new set of x-rays will be ordered. Based on those x-rays and Payton's visible comfort level... a decision will have to be made as to whether she might need a new hip. If not, she could suffer great pain in her later years.

If you would like to be part of Paytons life, please email or call the Alliance so we can set up an appointment with her foster family. A home check and meet & greet with all family members ( no kids under age 8) is required. There is an adoption contract and an adoption fee. 623 869-0409 Msg Line
