My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I‘m Sable, a very sweet female Shar-Pei. I was rescued from doggie jail in Gaston, NC. I rode well in the car and walked nicely on the leash on my way to my foster home. I've settled in on the nice orthopedic bed here and am quite comfortable.

Update 12/28/2011: Christmas was good here. I got a Christmas bath and a new toy, but I am still sad. You see I was with my old family for a long time, but this year they were blessed with a new baby. It was a happy time but then the baby got very sick and there were lots of medical bills and hard times. One of us had to go. So I volunteered and that is how I ended up at the high kill shelter. I knew I was a goner because of my age but then I heard someone say a rescue group wanted me. THANK YOU. I really like my foster mom and dad and the 3 dogs that live here are nice too. I am learning to live with other dogs, and Maggie-Pei is my favorite. I am an AKC dog (you know that means Adorable, Kissable, Canine), and I have lots of squeezable wrinkles. I am hoping that there is someone out there with a soft spot for a well-behaved, sweet, mature girl who just wants someone to love and to be loved. IS IT YOU ???

Update 7/6/2012: Hi, just checking in to let everyone know that I am still doing well in my foster home. I just had my 11th birthday on 4th of July. The folks here treat me like one of their own, and they even built me a doggie ramp so that I could get in and out easier with my sore leg. My Foster Mom says that I am a joy to have!
