STAR is a Spanish Greyhound mix and is two years old. She has a stunning brindle coat and is such a slender, graceful dog at 50 pounds. She loves to run and play in the shelter yard and is very agile. We are teaching her to play fetch. Star likes to accompany you on daily walks, too. She is a friendly dog who enjoys attention and affection and loves everyone. Star has a happy personality that is so endearing. She is a bright dog who is housebroken and will sit on command. Star is good with people of all ages and also gets along with other dogs. She was introduced to cats and was just curious about them, but did not try to chase them. Star was found abandoned and never claimed.
Star is in Maine! She is a lovely dog, very balanced in temperment. She loves to play, and doesn't mind if she isn't the leader. Her foster is teaching her recall and getting her socialized with cats. She does seem to understand that her name is Star.
Star is a very stable, SMART, incredibly energetic girl. The family that adopts her will need to see that she gets a healthy dose of exercise so that she can be the best she can be! She is lovely in every way. Appropriate toys are necessary for her love of chewing. Star never shows any signs of dominance or aggression. This girl can JUMP and would be a great candidate for agility! Older children may be more appropriate for Star because of her gusto and lively enthusiasm. Children old enough to play with her and get her outside to have fun with would be great. Star has been taught some commands and no matter how much fun she is having during her play session, will pay attention and do what is asked of her (sit, lay down). Someone in her past life took time to train her. We feel she will make a joyful companion to a lucky family who has time to spend with this living doll!
To apply to adopt Star, please visit our web site
here to find out about our adoption process.
Please note: we do not have a physical location, we are supported by a network of wonderful foster homes that are spread throughout New England. A dog will need to be visited by a prospective adopter in the foster home where they are feeling safe and comfortable.
